Meet the coaches

Amanda Wilson
(AKA MAndi)



Mandi is the owner of CrossFit Contessa Her fitness career began at the age of 16 when she completed her Cert 3 & 4 in fitness, the youngest in her cohort. Mandi’s first ‘real’ job in the industry was with Fernwood Fitness where she achieved various national monthly awards for Personal Training within the company.

For the next 8 years, Mandi worked her way up through all of the available roles within a popular franchise gym boasting 2500 members. This is where she learned the required skills to own and run her own fitness business.

CrossFit Contessa opened in 2014, where Mandi’s focus has been on empowering women, developing the staff, upgrading her qualifications and skill set and raising her own Daughter with the same principles used in the gym daily.

Candice Lamb

Gym manager, Head Coach


Candice is a CrossFit Trainer and Nutrition Coach, as well as our gym manager. She graduated as a Physiotherapist from James Cook University in 2013, and went on to complete further study in the field of Women’s Health & Continence through Curtin University in Perth. During this time she competed in bodybuilding competitions before being introduced to CrossFit by a friend and has never looked back.

Her background in Physiotherapy and specifically Women’s Health combined with her love of CrossFit has helped shape her into a trainer that loves showing women their true potential through exercise, both physically and mentally. The benefits of learning how to move well and lift properly are endless and can be achieved no matter the person, their age or their injury status.

As well as helping women discover their physical and mental potential through exercise, Candice is incredibly passionate about food and the role that our diet plays in our energy, our mood, our body composition and athletic performance. From this passion came Contessa Nutrition, coaching that seeks to improve nutritional literacy, body composition and athletic performance through expert coaching.

Sarah O'Mahony



Sarah fell in love with health and fitness when she went through her own weight loss journey in her late 20’s. She discovered CrossFit after becoming a mum and has never looked back. She has a passion for encouraging and supporting women in health and fitness.

Industry Experience: 1.5 years
Qualifications: Certificate III and IV in fitness, CrossFit Level 1, CrossFit Weightlifting, Girls Gone Strong Pregnancy and Postpartum Coaching

Hannah Gleeson



From a young age Hannah has participated in a wide range of sports shaping her into a coach that wants to help women understand the impacts of being challenged in a positive environment.

Hannah’s background in sport has not only given her an understanding of a healthy lifestyle, it now motivates her to help women of all ages and abilities experience the same. Hannah wants to help you see what you’re truly capable of, all through safe, functional movement to everyday life.

Becky Smart

Coach & Admin Legend


Becky has many roles at Contessa: Photographer/Media, Barista, Admin and CrossFit Kids coach.

Becky started CrossFit and has been a part of the Contessa community since 2016. She grew up being involved in sport through school, her county sport team and dancing.

Becky loves CrossFit because she loves the idea that you're never done. There is always something to learn, to grow from or be better at. This is something she hopes to pass on through CrossFit Kids. As well as the idea that taking care of your health and keeping fit can be fun!

Her work here at Contessa combines a fair few of her passions and interests. She says she pinches herself every time she gets to come to work and do what she loves around inspiring people, of all ages, from all different backgrounds.

She graduated from DeMontfort University with a 1st class honours in Photography and Video, then went on to complete a Post Graduate Certificate in Early Childhood Education, Leadership and Management. Primary school teacher in UK for 2 years and since moving to Australia in 2014 has been working in early childhood education.

Qualifications: CrossFit Level 1, CrossFit Kids Trainer Certificate, BaHons Photography and Video, Post Graduate Certificate in Early Childhood Education (Leadership and Management).

Coffee Collective Sunshine Coast is located inside CrossFit Contessa but we’re open to the public. We serve up locally sourced specialty coffee, by Kai Coffee and a range of healthy fresh and tasty snacks to keep you fuelled and feeling good.
